The Privilege Of Prayer

Was reading E.G. White, Steps to Christ ,-the above mentioned chapter. I have read it before several times but somehow this evening as I read, the Holy Spirit has granted me great comforts and reassurance. My faith has not always been the strongest but I am glad that even that need He promises to supply. Are you struggling with a particular a situation ? Do you believe that God has gone silent? Maybe in that silence is the very answer you are seeking. Keep the faith.

"He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all thing?"- Matt 7:7; Romans 8:32

The assurance is broad and unlimited, and He is faithful who has promised. When we do not receive the very things we asked for, at the time we ask, we are still to believe that the Lord hears and that He will answer our prayers. We are so erring and shortsighted that we sometimes ask for things that would not be a blessing to us, and our heavenly Father in love answers our prayers by giving us that which will be for our highest good- that which we ourselves would desire if with vision divinely enlightened we could see all things as they really are.
When our prayers seen not to be answered, we are to cling to the promise; for the time of answering will surely come, and we shall receive the blessing we need  most. But to to claim that prayer will always be answered in the very way and for the particular thing we desire, is presumption. God is too wise to err, and too good to withhold any good thing from him that walketh uprightly. Then do not fear to trust Him, even though you do not see the immediate answer to your prayers. Rely upon His sure promise, "Ask, and it shall be given you."

  1. Checking the date on this posting and things that have transpired on that and after that particular date, gives me the courage that I so need this morning. Thank you Jesus, you are too wise to be mistaken.

  2. Lord . 7 years after and not only am I living outside your well but verbally denied my faith in you. I have caused a reproach on your name. I have lost so much. So much has been robbed and destroyed. God I am lost, save me. I know obedience is better than sacrifice
