A Special Thanksgiving -2012

In 2011 the family celebrated thanksgiving in North Carolina and we had an awesome time. So much so,  that despite the odds, I was pushing to repeat the experience. God in His love and divine providence had other plans.  In early October, my dad had an aneurysm that had him in acute hospital including intensive care for 14 days and acute rehab for 9. That absolutely shifted things from NC  back to New Jersey.

As a member of the medical profession, and specifically  of the rehabilitation team, I fully understood and appreciated the magnitude of God's miraculous intervention on my father's behalf.  It  was a miracle that on that specific night when the aneurysm was evolving that he did not go to sleep like he wanted to. In providence, he was able to get to the hospital in time to have the life saving brain surgery done, and walked  away with little or no residual effect. It was a miracle that after almost seven weeks he was home and enjoying  yet another thanksgiving meal.

So yes, wherein we were thankful for everyday and the myriad amount of gifts that came with every second, we were especially thankful to have our father around yet for another Thanksgiving day. Grateful also to have celebrated with family and friends.  Thank you Jesus!

Mother deciding to clown around, but after 7 weeks of back and forth, I suppose she earned the right.
