NEMO- North East first snow storm of 2103 winter season

I have been away from snow like this for almost  three years. I was really apprehensive about my 99 Southern Camry was going to manage this monstrosity of a storm but thank God we made it.

Digging out from the snow was kind of a family affair as we were all involved. Overall snow is very white and pretty initially and if  left untouched  with time and traffic, that same beauty can be transformed in a dirty, ugly, slippery, deadly trap. The analogy is drawn between the physical aspects of snow as it goes through its metamorphic phases and the redemption offers to us by Jesus Christ. His blood washes our sins and make us white as soon. Let us choose to daily resist the dirty, ugly deadly trap offer by all temptations and walk in the cleansing blood.

The Privilege Of Prayer

Was reading E.G. White, Steps to Christ ,-the above mentioned chapter. I have read it before several times but somehow this evening as I read, the Holy Spirit has granted me great comforts and reassurance. My faith has not always been the strongest but I am glad that even that need He promises to supply. Are you struggling with a particular a situation ? Do you believe that God has gone silent? Maybe in that silence is the very answer you are seeking. Keep the faith.

"He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all thing?"- Matt 7:7; Romans 8:32

The assurance is broad and unlimited, and He is faithful who has promised. When we do not receive the very things we asked for, at the time we ask, we are still to believe that the Lord hears and that He will answer our prayers. We are so erring and shortsighted that we sometimes ask for things that would not be a blessing to us, and our heavenly Father in love answers our prayers by giving us that which will be for our highest good- that which we ourselves would desire if with vision divinely enlightened we could see all things as they really are.
When our prayers seen not to be answered, we are to cling to the promise; for the time of answering will surely come, and we shall receive the blessing we need  most. But to to claim that prayer will always be answered in the very way and for the particular thing we desire, is presumption. God is too wise to err, and too good to withhold any good thing from him that walketh uprightly. Then do not fear to trust Him, even though you do not see the immediate answer to your prayers. Rely upon His sure promise, "Ask, and it shall be given you."

A Special Thanksgiving -2012

In 2011 the family celebrated thanksgiving in North Carolina and we had an awesome time. So much so,  that despite the odds, I was pushing to repeat the experience. God in His love and divine providence had other plans.  In early October, my dad had an aneurysm that had him in acute hospital including intensive care for 14 days and acute rehab for 9. That absolutely shifted things from NC  back to New Jersey.

As a member of the medical profession, and specifically  of the rehabilitation team, I fully understood and appreciated the magnitude of God's miraculous intervention on my father's behalf.  It  was a miracle that on that specific night when the aneurysm was evolving that he did not go to sleep like he wanted to. In providence, he was able to get to the hospital in time to have the life saving brain surgery done, and walked  away with little or no residual effect. It was a miracle that after almost seven weeks he was home and enjoying  yet another thanksgiving meal.

So yes, wherein we were thankful for everyday and the myriad amount of gifts that came with every second, we were especially thankful to have our father around yet for another Thanksgiving day. Grateful also to have celebrated with family and friends.  Thank you Jesus!
